Offer adapted to visitors with reduced mobility

• The entire monument is accessible to people with limited mobility.
• Chairs and benches are available in the cloisters and along the tour route.
• Wheelchairs, walkers, and folding chairs are available upon request at the ticket office.
• The restrooms in the 1st and 3rd cloisters are accessible to people with limited mobility.
• Wheelchair users must be accompanied by an assistant.
• Be sure to wear warm clothing in winter and a sweater in summer (the church is always quite cool).

Ground floor

• The entrance and exit to the monument are in the same location (unless otherwise indicated due to an event), on the church forecourt.
• Access to the ticket office is through a manually operated door leading from the outside to the inside. It is 90 cm wide.
• The ticket counter is 80 cm high and has a clear space underneath that allows a person in a wheelchair to approach it.
• The church’s apse is not accessible to people in wheelchairs (11 cm step).
• All staircases in the monument have continuous handrails with a non-slip strip on each step.
• In the third cloister, the exit from the “Quel Chantier!” area has a very high step.
• Permanent access ramps are installed

 o   To reach the church chapels: 1.15 m × 2.50 m

 o   To reach the rood screen: 1.20 m × 1.15 m

 o   To reach the chapter house (venue for temporary exhibitions): 1.30 m × 2.50 m

Upper level

• The elevator located in the first cloister takes visitors to the upper level, where they can access the church’s rood screen, the apartments of Margaret of Austria (interpretive space), and the Museum of Fine Arts.
• The rood screen is partially accessible to wheelchair users, as the passageways are only 70 cm wide.
• The themed tour “Prenez de la hauteur” (Take to the Heights), which leads to the church’s attic, is not accessible to people with limited mobility (110 steps without an elevator).
• For special events, another elevator is located in the administrative building (access via the gardens, which have a gravel or grass surface). Measuring 80 cm wide by 140 cm deep, it provides access to the first floor (event rooms, conference room, and library).
• Ramps: All museum rooms are accessible via wooden ramps. All doorways in the museum’s rooms are 80 cm wide, except for the one leading to the monks’ cell, which is 120 cm wide. In Marguerite’s apartments, the Love, Power, and Art rooms are accessible to wheelchair users; the doors are 90 cm wide.
