Please note: last access to the monument 30 minutes before closing time; evacuation of the monument 15 minutes before closing time.

Closed on1 January,1 May and 25 December.

The entrance ticket gives you access to the entire monument, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts and temporary exhibitions.

From Mâcon (35 min) : A 40, exit 7 and N 75 towards Bourg-en-Bresse

From Lyon (1h): A 42, exit no. 7 and N 75 towards Bourg-en-Bresse

From Geneva (1h15) : A 40, exit no. 7 and N 75 towards Bourg-en-Bresse

BY TRAIN

SNCF: TGV Paris - Bourg-en-Bresse in 1h50 (direct). Go there with TER Rhône-Alpes! Lyon - Bourg-en-Bresse in 45min.

From the station: about 20 minutes on foot and 10 minutes by bike. By bus: line 2 to the "Valéry" stop; line 6 to the "Monastère de Brou" stop.

BY BIKE
Cycle paths link Bourg-en-Bresse station to the Royal Monastery of Brou. Cycle racks are available in front of the monument (near the stone benches to the right of the entrance). All you need to know about self-service bicycles

Services and visiting conditions

  • Accessibility for people with reduced mobility
  • Changing table available
  • Pushchairs permitted
  • Dogs prohibited (except guide dogs)
  • No food allowed inside the monument
  • Luggage lockers available

Disabled visitors

  • The entire monument is accessible to people with reduced mobility. A lift provides access to the1st level (upper gallery of the rood screen, Marguerite of Austria's flats and the Musée des Beaux-Arts).
  • The temporary exhibition rooms on the ground floor have narrow interior doors (less than 80 cm wide).
  • Adapted sanitary facilities are located in the1st cloister
  • Wheelchairs and folding seats available on request from the ticket office
  • Parking: People with Reduced Mobility and those with severe mobility problems can get to the ticket office by car via the church forecourt.
  • There is a lift (80cm wide) in the administration building (access to the function rooms, conference rooms and library).
  • In Marguerite of Austria's flats, the visitor facilities have been designed to be accessible to the visually and hearing impaired.
  • Easy-to-read and easy-to-understand tour booklet (available free of charge in French at the ticket office)
