Created by the grandson of the Flemish master Rogier Van der Weyden, discover this exceptional painting from the early 16th century. Carefully restored over three years by the Phoebus Foundation (Antwerp - Belgium), this masterpiece is being presented for the first time in France. This work, comprising eight painted panels, is dedicated to Dymphne, an Irish saint.

Thanks to captivating video installations, discover the fascinating story of this woman in search of emancipation, the mysterious journey of this painting up to its incredible restoration, and also the teeming artistic universe of the Flemish Renaissance, of which the Royal Monastery of Brou is also a witness.

The "Fous de Dymphne, étonnantes histoires d'une peinture flamande" exhibition is organised in partnership with La Fondation Phœbus, with the support of the Centre des monuments nationaux and the City of Bourg-en-Bresse.

The Phœbus Foundation (Antwerp, Belgium) is a philanthropic art foundation. The foundation acquires works of art and provides a professional framework for the conservation and management of works of art, ensures their preservation and restoration and aims to achieve a high level of scientific research. The results of these efforts are shared as widely as possible through exhibitions and loans, cultural events, symposia and publications.
